Abstract

Summary of the last meeting of the University Senate of Porto, in which the motion of protest against the attacks on the Portuguese sovereignty at the UN was approved; tribute paid to Dr. Urgel Horta for his campaign in favour of the reinstatement of the Faculty of Arts of Porto; reference to the 100th anniversary of the death of Professor Bento Carqueja and to the Professors of the university who have passed away. Announcement of the creation of new school prizes and donations to the university libraries, and approval of the plan for the commemorations of the 50th anniversary of the University of Porto.

Síntese da última reunião do Senado Universitário do Porto, durante a qual foi aprovada uma moção de protesto contra os ataques à soberania portuguesa na O.N.U; se exprimiram votos de homenagem ao Dr. Urgel Horta pela sua campanha na restauração da Faculdade de Letras do Porto; se referiu o 1.º centenário do nascimento do Prof. Bento Carqueja e se fez alusão a professores entretanto falecidos. Foi, também, anunciada a criação de novos prémios escolares e ofertas às bibliotecas universitárias, bem como aprovado o plano das Comemorações do 50.º aniversário da Universidade do Porto.
