A viagem presidencial ao Porto terminou com a inauguração do Hospital de São João

Abstract

The inauguration of S. João School Hospital, which received the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto, attended by Admiral Américo Tomás. The ceremony began with a military parade in front of the Hospital and the unveiling of a commemorative stone, followed by a visit to the building. The formal event to hand the new Hospital from the Ministry of Public Works to the Ministry of National Education was held in the Medicine Auditorium. Several speeches were given by the members of the Government and the academic authoritie present in the event. The awarding of the medals of the Order of Public Education, the Order of Christ and the Order of Agricultural and Industrial Merit. Professor Hernâni Monteiro received the insignia of Grand Officer of Public Education. Contains four photographs of the inauguration event.

Inauguração do Hospital Escolar de S. João, para o qual foi transferida a Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto, com a presença do Almirante Américo Tomás. A cerimónia foi principiada com um desfile militar à entrada do Hospital e com o descerrar de uma lápide comemorativa do acontecimento, seguindo-se a visita ao interior do edifício No anfiteatro de Medicina foi realizada a sessão solene de transferência do novo Hospital entre os Ministérios das Obras Públicas e o da Educação Nacional, tendo sido proferidos diversos discursos pelos membros do Governo e pelas autoridades académicas presentes. Entrega de condecorações da Ordem da Instrução Pública, da Ordem de Cristo e da Ordem de Mérito Agrícola e Industrial. O Dr. Hernâni Monteiro foi agraciado com o grau de Grande Oficial da Ordem da Instrução Pública. Quatro fotografias de diferentes momentos da cerimónia de inauguração.
