Abstract

A review of the lecture on "Slavery in Portugal and Brazil" given by Full Professor Mendes Correia, of the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto. Contains a photograph of the guests at the honorary table. The article focuses on the main guidelines on the evolution of the slavery system in Portugal, partly as the result of investigations and study missions undertaken by the lecturer.

Resenha da conferência "A escravatura em Portugal e no Brasil", proferida pelo catedrático da Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto, Dr. Mendes Correia. Além da fotografia da mesa de honra que presidiu à sessão, o artigo foca as principais directrizes sobre a evolução do sistema esclavagista no âmbito nacional, em parte fruto das investigações e missões de estudo realizadas pelo conferencista.
